I spotted one on the side of the road for sale. It appears to be in good shape, black with no interior tears, no rust, wheels in good shape. Anyone know what to look for problems wise? I’m calling about it today, no price listed unfortunately.

I get ya. The guy started spouting off KBB values as soon as he picked up the phone. Limited maintenance history 26k miles. He won it in a bar football pool and only drove it once. No bargains to be had here.

Don’t tell the Alfa people, but I love these in black. Don’t love the wheels, but IIRC that is what the Veloces shipped with. That one looks to be in amazing shape.

I love the wheels personally. But yeah its in great shape, 26k miles, but no maintenance history and the guy wants 15-20 grand for it.

Hmmm.... that is a tough one. I mean maintenance on these is pretty straightforward so a lack of history wouldn’t bother me at all. For a low mile, rust free example that might not be unreasonable. Certainly not a deal, but not unreasonable. Quick look says they’re going for $5k-$10k on BaT for non-Duettos.
That said, I wouldn’t but one for that much so... who can say.
They’re good wheels, but they’re my least favorite Alfa wheels from that period.
